The Surveyors Cup 2019 – 21st June, Entry Details

Following on from the success of the  ‘Surveyors World Cup’ last June the
competition is reverting to the Surveyors Cup.

This will be the 5th year of the tournament which has grown year on year.

Previous winners include: Calford Seaden, Quinn London, The Potter Raper Partnership and last years winners Paragon BC

Tournament details

Date: Friday 21st June

Venue: Play Football, Romford, Essex

Time: Teams will need to arrive by 12.00 pm for a 12.45 -1pm tournament start.The tournament will be finished
by 5.30 -5.45pm

By Car: Car Parking available

Public Transport: The nearest Romford overground station is  approximately 1.5 miles away 

The Surveyors Cup main competition

The tournament is 5 a side. The maximum number of players in a squad is 7. The first round will consist  of 7 groups of 5 teams in a league format.

The top 2 teams will from each league will go into a knock competition consisting of 16 teams. The additional 2 teams will be made up of the teams finishing in 3rd place within their leagues with the highest number of points.

Plate competition

Those teams finishing into 3rd and 4th places will go into a knock out plate competition in same format as the main competition. Two team finishing with the most points in fifth place will make up the additional two places.

Wooden Spoon competition

The bottom three teams will go into a mini competition to decide who the overall loser is and receive the wooden spoon.

Penalty Prize Competition

Running alongside the tournament we will be holding a penalty shoot out competition. Each team will be asked to nominate one player to take part before the competition. There will be a prize for the winning team.

FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS INCLUDED

All teams entering will be provided with water and energy drinks throughout the tournament. After the league stages a BBQ will be served and bar drinks vouchers issued to each team member. The BBQ will be provided by Conti Catering

Supporters are very welcome.

SPORTS MASSAGE

McKagans Sports Massage will be on hand to relieve aches and pains throughout the
tournament.

ALVIN MARTIN
Ex -West Ham United Captain and Talk Sport presenter Alvin Martin will be hosting the event. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The tournament is teams will consist of 35 teams and is open to main contractors,
property developers, civil engineering companies, architects, cost and project
management consultants from the construction industry.

All  Stars team

This year we are going to have one or two teams made up from companies that can only get one or two players and wish to join with other companies to form one team.

Tournament Charity

Every year we use the charity to raise money for a charity with a football connection. This year we are raising money for The Jermain Defoe Foundation. Their mission is to give children a brighter future, All teams entering will be asked to make a company donation to this charity.  To do this please visit their just giving page and make a donation.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - Wednesday 25th March

The Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday evening signalled the introduction of more stringent restrictions on us all and has specifically indicated that members of the public should only leave their home for very limited purposes. The message indicates that we should travel to and from work, only where this is absolutely necessary.

The management of the Downwell Group of companies which includes: Downwell Demolition, Inner City Environmental and Inner City Scaffolding has very carefully considered both the meaning and the spirit of the Prime Minister’s statement and whilst there has been some clarification from government subsequently that building sites could continue to operate, we came to the very clear decision yesterday that it was necessary for us, as a responsible contractor, to safely and securely close down our operational sites as soon as reasonably possible. Doing so will assist in maintaining the wellbeing of our customers, employees, sub-contractors, suppliers and the wider communities within which we build.

All sites have been closed down in a safe and secure manner and will remain closed until further notice.

We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the key workers on the frontline who are continiung working for the good of us all.
