The Surveyors World Cup 2018 – Friday 22nd June 2018

The Surveyors World Cup – this year the tournament will be open to 32 teams. Each company that enters will be assigned a World Cup competing Country and compete as that Country. We will advise you of your assigned Country before the Tournament. Each team will consist of a maximum of 7 players in a squad and team sheets will have to be handed in before the Tournament kicks off. On arrival all teams will be issued with T Shirts branded with their assigned Country name.
It is our aim to provide teams with as much football as possible on the day. The top two teams from each Group will go into a Knockout competition. The bottom teams will go into a seperate plate competition with its own knockout competition. Ultimately the final tournament format will be decided by the Play Football management team on the day of the event subject to team attendance.
We will also be running a seperate Penalty Tournament on the day for those players wishing to take part.
Because the World Cup is on at that time there will be screens available to watch the two televised matches taking part that day.
Entry to the Tournament
There are 32 Team places availabe for this years tournament. We do not charge an entry fee to take part. However we like to try and raise money for worthwhile causes and last year we asked if participating teams would consider making a company donation to our designated tournament Charity which was the JonJo Heuerman Appeal and we raised nearly £2000.00.
This year we are supporting anothe Football related Charity which is the Freekicks Foundation and ask that you could support them by making a company donation.
At the Free Kicks Foundation they raise money to give deserving children and adults days out at football.
They call their days out ‘Kicks’ and Free Kicks and is run by Steve Thorpe and Sam Downing around their full time jobs and family commitments. Steve runs the fundraising, administration and social media side of the organisation. Meanwhile Sam co-ordinates all the Kicks, liaising with hospitals, charities, families and football clubs to ensure each experience is memorable and runs smoothly.
Since they started, we have taken nearly 650 deserving children and young adults to matches all over the country. The majority of children they work with go along to the matches as Team Mascots. This generally involves a tour of the ground, a new kit, visiting the players in the dressing rooms, a kickabout on the pitch and, of course, leading the team out ahead of kickoff. Alternatively they can provide hospitality packages and other experiences at any club in the country.

On the day we will be providing complimentary drinks and a buffet to all our participating teams. Supporters are welcome and their will be tea and coffees available. We ask that any companies wishing to take part please check before applying that they will be able to get their players to committ fully to attending in order to arrange catering and fixture arrangements. Or if you have to pull out please give us at least two weeks notice.
The Play Football Arena has ample Car Parking facilities and is appoximately a mile and a half from Romford Mainline Station which is on the Liverpool Street Line and takes approximately up to 30 minutes from Liverpool Street. There are faster trains subject to the timetables.
Teams will need to arrive by 12.00-12.15 for a 1’oclock kick off. Their will be changing rooms available. The last stages of the competition will be at around 5.00pm approximately. (This maybe subject to change).

Once you have completed this we will confirm your acceptance into competition by an email from our Business Development – Manager Alan Knight.
