Downwell are committed to achieving accreditations relevant to all areas of our operations and constantly strive to improve standards.

  • NFDC – Accepted in May 2013 – The National Federation of Demolition Contractors is the voice of the UK demolition industry. It is dedicated to a continual improvement of the demolition industry for the benefit of its members, customers, and the general public through training, monitoring and policing of best practices.

  • ISO 9001 – Achieved April 2012 – ISO9001 is a certified quality management system (nqa) for organisations who want to prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers and other relevant stakeholders.

  • ISO 14001 – Achieved April 2012 – ISO 14001 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and can be certified to. It maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

  • Achilles RISQS – Audit passed with exemplary report. Downwell can now undertake projects within Network Rail assets.

    Operatives working on the rail projects are all PTS competent.

  • FORS Silver – Achieved in January 2016 – The FORS process of accreditation and continuous improvements makes sound business sense, and gives customers peace of mind that the organisation they contract with take safety and compliance seriously.

  • NDTG – The National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) was formed in 1978 with the sole objective of providing specific and relevant training opportunities to demolition workers.

  • CSCS – All our operatives are assessed to the required standards expected by the construction industry.

  • CHAS – Achieved in April 2012 – CHAS assesses applicants: Health and safety policy statement, their organisation for health and safety and their specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to our buyers and to others.

  • Constructionline –  Is the UK’s leading procurement and supply chain management service that collects, assesses and monitors standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91, the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by BSI to reduce duplication within the construction industry

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement - Wednesday 25th March

The Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday evening signalled the introduction of more stringent restrictions on us all and has specifically indicated that members of the public should only leave their home for very limited purposes. The message indicates that we should travel to and from work, only where this is absolutely necessary.

The management of the Downwell Group of companies which includes: Downwell Demolition, Inner City Environmental and Inner City Scaffolding has very carefully considered both the meaning and the spirit of the Prime Minister’s statement and whilst there has been some clarification from government subsequently that building sites could continue to operate, we came to the very clear decision yesterday that it was necessary for us, as a responsible contractor, to safely and securely close down our operational sites as soon as reasonably possible. Doing so will assist in maintaining the wellbeing of our customers, employees, sub-contractors, suppliers and the wider communities within which we build.

All sites have been closed down in a safe and secure manner and will remain closed until further notice.

We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all the key workers on the frontline who are continiung working for the good of us all.
