We have a continuous training programme for all our management and workforce to ensure that all works are carried out safely and efficiently by competent, trained individuals.
Health & Safety Training and Responsibility
Each member of staff has a training record that entered on into our Construction Management system. This system highlights requirements for all retraining needs.We carry out a training needs analysis to identify any new training needed on every project.

The Downwell Group has an open-door policy that encourages employees to highlight measures to improve our health and safety.
Our SHEQ Manager works closely with our health & safety advisors, external auditors, contracts management team, and site supervisors. The Downwell Group has instilled an overriding ethos of ‘we all take responsibility to achieve our high standards consistently day to day basis.
Each group in the company holds accreditations from their relevant trade bodies, who set the standards required within their work by regular auditing, spot checks, working methods, and training.

Due to the nature of Downwell Groups works, CDM Regulations 2015 are strictly adhered to at all times.
Our subcontractors’ performance reflects on us. Therefore, we have a database of approved companies that have proved they can deliver a high Health and Safety performance over a long period.
All our subcontractors are required to hold industry and health and safety accreditations. They must fill in annual health and safety questionnaires, and these are reviewed as part of our ISO 9001 management procedures.
Any companies that have not completed works with Downwell Group must meet our standards and hold SSIP as a minimum.
Our workforce’s Health and well-being are of paramount importance, and our operatives have an annual health check. They have to sign the site induction sheet to confirm they are fit for work.
Downwell has trained Mental Health First Aiders trained to recognise mental health issues and provide advice and information to the workforce.

Plant and Equipment
Downwell continually invests in the latest plant, equipment, and vehicles that conform to the latest environmental regulations and reduces our carbon footprint.
We also have the latest sound, dust, and vibration equipment to monitor our environmental performance on-site.
